Net Worths of Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan and Fifty Shades of Grey Cast

While the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie is one of the most-anticipated films of 2015, the film's roster is surprisingly light on big movie stars. Instead, the "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast is a mix of lesser-known actors, up-and-coming names and some of Hollywood's best kept secrets — with the exception of one Oscar-winning actress.

Because of this, most of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" stars have net worths far below those enjoyed by Hollywood A-listers, though their roles in this hit film will probably give their earnings an impressive boost over the next few years. Here's how much the stars of quite possibly the steamiest movie to ever hit the big screen are worth, as reported by CelebrityNetWorth unless otherwise noted.

  1. Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey: Irish actor Jamie Dornan is estimated to have a net worth of approximately $3 million.

  2. Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele: Dakota is the only daughter of movie stars Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith's, and is reportedly worth $1 million.

  3. Jennifer Ehle as Carla May Wilks: Best known for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in the 1995 BBC miniseries "Pride and Prejudice," Ehle has an estimated net worth of $4 million.

  4. Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey: Former "True Blood" star Luke Grimes has a net worth of roughly $500,000.

  5. Rita Ora as Mia Grey: Multi-talented British singer-songwriter Rita Ora has an estimated fortune of $2 million. "Fifty Shades" will be Ora's silver screen debut as the singer tries her hand at acting.

  6. Eloise Mumford as Kate Kavanagh: Mumford plays Anastasia Steele's on-screen best friend and has an off-screen fortune estimated at $2 million.

  7. Marcia Gay Harden as Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey: The Academy Award-winning Marcia Gay Harden reportedly has a net worth of $12 million.

  8. Andrew Airlie as Carrick Grey: English actor Andrew Airlie is worth approximately $3 million, according to Celebrities Money.

  9. Max Martini as Jason Taylor: Max Martini may play Christian Grey's bodyguard in the movie, but in real life this seasoned actor is worth $4 million.

  10. Victor Rasuk as José Rodriguez: As the star of the former HBO show "How to Make It in American," Rasuk has a net worth of approximately $2 million.

In total, the combined net worth of these cast members is approximately $33.5 million.

Fifty Shades of Grey Series Has Sold 100 Million Copies

Those familiar with "Fifty Shades of Grey" know it's not just a single book, but a trilogy. The series consists of three novels, aptly titled "Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker," and "Fifty Shades Freed."

Since its launch the series has sold more than 100 million copies which carry a retail price of $15.95 each. The trilogy has been published in 51 different languages and is quickly approaching the sales levels of tween sensation "Twilight," which sold 120 million copies.

All of these book sales earned author E. L. James the No. 1 spot on Forbes' list of top-earning authors of 2013. According to Forbes, James made $95 million from June 2012 to June 2013, though she didn't manage crack the list of highest-earning authors the following year. James also would have received a good portion of the $5 million that Universal and Focus paid for the rights to the film.

Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Already a Box Office Sensation

While "Fifty Shades of Grey" makes its theater debut on Friday, Feb. 13, the movie has already broken a box office record or two. Last month, fans rushed to purchase advanced e-tickets as soon as they were released, resulting in $1 million in sales in just the first three days, reports Adweek.

In fact, Fandango reported that "Fifty Shades of Grey" is the fastest-selling R-rated movie in the company's 15-year history. The trailers alone have garnered nearly 40 million YouTube views in a matter of weeks. Fandango issued a statement noting that theaters across the country are already adding new show times to their websites to accommodate the throngs of fans expected to turn out.

"Very few books can claim true national phenomenon status — and 'Fifty Shades' ranks with 'Twilight,' 'The Hunger Games' and 'Gone Girl' as novels that entered the zeitgeist from coast to coast," said Fandango chief correspondent Dave Karger in the statement. "Fans of the book have been waiting for years to see their favorite sexy characters come to life on the big screen, and they are clearly fueling our sensational advance sales."

While "Fifty Shades of Grey" had a total production budget of just $40 million, the movie is expected to bring in $63 million during its opening weekend, reports BoxOffice.com, which would make it the highest-earning opening weekends ever for an R-rated film.

It seems that Jamie Dornan may share some of Christian Grey's business-savvy instincts, as MTV reports he negotiated a profit share in the film. Rumor has it he'll receive a base salary of just £80,000 (around $120,000), with a substantial boost if the movie rakes in major profits — which at this point seems pretty much a given.

Figures on what Dakota Johnson was paid for "Fifty Shades of Grey" were not readily available, however, as the co-lead of the movie she was likely given a deal similar to Dornan's. At least, we hope Johnson was paid as much as her male costar, even if Hollywood doesn't always have the greatest track record of giving lead actors and actresses equal pay.
