PSEG announced Wednesday that it is buying a 10.5-megawatt solar facility from Obsidian Renewables for $21 million. The plant, now under construction in Lake County, Ore., will be PSEG's 19th utility-scale solar project.
The PSEG Lake County Solar Energy Center will have 32,000 solar panels on 65 acres and includes a 20-year agreement with PacificCorp, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, to purchase the power production.
PSEG Solar Source, a unit of Public Service Enterprise Group of Newark, N.J., operates 215 megawatts of solar facilities and has another 128 MW scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
