UGI raises quarterly dividend

UGI Corp. said today it raised its quarterly dividend by 8.75 cents, or about 5 percent, to 18.5 cents a share. The new dividend is payable July 1 to shareholders on June 15.

UGI is a holding company with utility, propane marketing and energy services subsidiaries. It owns ablout 44 percent of AmeriGas Partners L.P., which also raised its dividend today.

UGI today reported a 16 percent increase in its second-quarter profit to $120.2 million.

Its shares were up 30 cents to $27.76 in late-morning New York Stock Exchange trading.
