Today's Philadelphia average is $3.10 per gallon. The average in South Jersey also fell a cent, to $2.87 a gallon, and is down 3 cents from a week ago, the auto club said.

The national average has fallen much farther - down 7 cents from a week ago, to $3.02 per gallon.

Oil futures, meanwhile, retreated today, giving back most of the previous session's big gain, after the government's November jobs report wasn't as robust as some traders had hoped.
