Days before their contract was scheduled to expire, Crozer Chester Medical Center and nurses represented by the Crozer Chester Nurses Association reached a tentative agreement on a new contract early this morning.
The union, which is part of the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP), has recommended ratification.
The union's 800 members are voting on the proposed contract today and into the evening. The current contract expires at midnight tomorrow.
Bill Cruice, executive director of PASNAP and chief negotiator, said this morning that he could not release details of the three-year proposal.
The union had asked for nurse-to-patient ratios similar to those required in California.
