Charming Shoppes named a new non-executive chairman, separating the titles of board chairman and chief executive.

Alan Rosskamm was named the non-executive chairman. He is the Bensalem company's longest standing board member, having been appointed in 1992.

Dorrit J. Bern remains president and chief executive.

Arnaud Ajdler, Michael C. Appel, Richard W. Bennet III and Michael Goldstein as new directors to the Company.

Rosskamm was the chief executive officer of Jo-Ann Stores Inc. from October 1985 to August 2006, and chairman of Jo-Ann's board of directors from July 1992 to August 2006.

The company had announced May 5, that the posts of chairman and chief executive would be separated.
