Wilsons leather stores to close

The company that runs former mall staple Wilsons leather stores is going out of business, according to news service reports.

The Brooklyn Park, Minn.-based company, which changed its name to PreVu Inc., said it doesn't expect shareholders to recover anything from the liquidation of its chain of luggage, clothing and accessories shops, Bloomberg News reported.

The news service reported that PreVu expected everything to be sold by the end of October, but didn't know whether it would file from bankruptcy protection.

Wilsons had operated several hundred stores nationwide, many of them in malls. In the region, the company operates stores at the Franklin Mills Mall, and in Pottstown and Atlantic City.
