Elemica merging with Atlanta-based firm

Elemica Inc., an Exton-based supply-chain services provider, has merged with RubberNetwork L.L.C., an Atlanta-based global sourcing and supply chain company.

Elemica Inc., an Exton-based supply-chain services provider, has merged with RubberNetwork L.L.C., an Atlanta-based global sourcing and supply chain company.

The combined company, is being called Elemica, the companies announced, and is based in Exton. The deal was closed Friday.

Terms were not disclosed; both companies are privately held, and the merged company would be, too, a spokeswoman said.

Elemica processes more than $50 billion a year in transactions across multiple industries. RubberNetwork has about $10 billion worth of transactions a year.

Elemica began life facilitating e-business transactions in the chemical industry, and branched out into adjacent industries. RubberNetwork operates in the global tire and rubber industry.

Elemica and RubberNetwork each has about 70 employees.

"The products of both Elemica and RubberNetwork are similar but not overlapping, we provide outstanding supply chain services to our blue chip clients, and we complement each other in the industries in which we operate," said Mike McGuigan, Elemica president and CEO.

He will continue to have those posts in the merged company.

Elemica expects to have about 2,500 partners in its supply-chain network, with offices in Atlanta, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.
