The results of the Nov. 3 New Jersey gubernatorial election are official.
Nearly 21/2 million registered voters cast ballots. That includes nearly 145,000 who voted by mail.
Republican Chris Christie officially received 1,174,445 votes to incumbent Democrat Gov. Corzine's 1,087,731 votes for governor.
Third-party candidates split the rest.
The overall turnout represents about 47 percent of the state's 5.2 million registered voters. That's according to the New Jersey Board of State Canvassers, which certified the ballots Tuesday.
The turnout was considerably lighter than for last year's presidential election, when more than 3.9 million New Jerseyans voted. That was 73 percent of a record 5.38 million people registered.
