Unisys Corp., the Blue Bell information technology company, said Thursday that it was awarded a $43 million, five-year extension of a check-processing contract by the Cooperative Bank in Great Britain.

The bank is part of the Cooperative Group, Britain's biggest consumer cooperative.
Unisys said the extension for its Payment Services Limited subsidiary was signed in the first quarter of this year. In addition to processing checks, the contract calls for Unisys to provide imaging archiving services. The company has been a vendor for Cooperative since 1994. - Paul Schweizer
