IRS extends taxpayer call hours for President's Day

To help meet high demand, the Internal Revenue Service is extending customer service hours to its toll-free call center on Presidents Day and Tuesday.

Taxpayers calling about account issues should be prepared to validate their identities by having prior-year and most-recently filed tax returns available.

Individuals:
800-829-1040

Businesses:
800-829-4933

People with hearing impairment:
800-829-4059 (TDD)

Exempt organizations, retirement plan administrators, and government:
877-829-5500 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time)
