Chicago firm buys Jefferson-anchored medical office buildings in Northeast Philly

Chicago-based Harrison Street Real Estate Capital LLC pas acquired a pair of Northeast Philadelphia medical office buildings anchored by Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, according to commercial real estate firm Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP, which marketed the properties.

Harrison Street bought the buildings totaling 86,000 square feet at 8001 and 8040 Roosevelt Blvd. for $17 million from an affiliate of George Comfort & Sons Inc. of New York,  HFF said in a release on Tuesday.

The properties have undergone near complete renovations in the last 24 months and are 95 percent leased, HFF said. Hospital services at the facilities include urgent care, vascular surgery, and hematology oncology.
