Michael Lubell has seen a lot of change in his Queen Village neighborhood since buying his home there in 1975.

"The Queen Village neighborhood is special," he said. "It's a small town in a big city with great neighbors and charming properties."

He's also seen a lot of change in the property he bought on the corner of Front and Catharine Street.

"Did a whole house renovation including both bathrooms and the kitchen," he said.

The property consists of two lots: one at 796 South Front Street and the other at 794. During the renovation, Lubell added a carport on the 794 lot, and a first-floor powder room to the 796 side. He also added hardwood floors to parts of the first and second floors.

The renovation also included the installation of an English garden, which wraps around the house into the 794 lot.

The kitchen and the garden are Lubell's two favorite parts of the property.

"I enjoy being creative in the kitchen and love working and lounging in the garden," he said. "Which I call my little piece of paradise."

The two-bedroom home includes two full baths as well as the first-floor powder room, stretched over 1,590 square feet of living space. The master bedroom features a stained glass Juliet balcony overlooking the neighborhood.

Lubell said he's decided to sell the home in order to move closer to his extended family.

"It was time to retire," he said. "And my brothers, nieces and nephews – my closest family really – are all in Colorado and we all wanted to be together."

The property is listed by Mona Plumer of Plumer Real Estate for $975,000.

Lubell says he'll miss the neighborhood almost as much as he'll miss the neighbors themselves.

"My neighbors are like family," he said.
