Southwest Airlines launched a three-day fare sale Tuesday, with domestic fares starting at $49 each way on its shortest routes to $79, $99, or $129 one-way on longer flights.

The twice-a-year fare sale is good for travel Aug. 22 through Dec. 13.

Seats and days are limited. For instance, Fridays and Sundays are excluded from the sale, as are dates around Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Flights to Florida and Nevada have additional days of travel restrictions.

The sale ends at 11:59 p.m., Thursday, June 8, based on local time in the city of the departing flight. Travel can be booked on the airline's website: southwest.com
