PSEG Solar investing $100M in 3 projects

PSEG Solar Source, an independent power producer owned by Public Service Enterprise Group of Newark, N.J., said today that it has invested $100 million to acquire two utility-scale solar projects in Florida and Ohio and is developing a third project in New Jersey.

PSEG Solar Source, an independent power producer owned by Public Service Enterprise Group of Newark, N.J., said today that it has invested $100 million to acquire two utility-scale solar projects in Florida and Ohio and is developing a third project in New Jersey.

The company said it has agreed with Juwi Solar Inc. of Boulder, Colo., to complete the three projects totaling 30 megawatts by the end of 2010.

The three ground-mounted projects are the Mars Solar Garden, a 2.2-megawatt facility next to the Mars Snackfood's U.S. headquarters in Hackettstown, N.J.; a 15-megawatt solar farm on 100 acres in Jacksonville, Fla.; and a 12-megawatt solar farm on 80 acres in Wyandot, Ohio.
