Septa Route 53 bus route extended
The 53 Bus Route will be getting a little longer starting this weekend. As of Sunday, the bus will add two and a half miles to its route, taking it to Feltonville, Juniata Park and Hunting Park. The added service, which begins Feb. 21, will take the bus along East Hunting Park Avenue. The extension, approved about a year ago, will operate along East Hunting Park Avenue, SEPTA officials said.

"Strong growth along the East Hunting Park drove community, political, and business requests for service," said Manuel Smith, a SEPTA spokesman.
