Spirit Airlines has resumed summer seasonal flights from Atlantic City International Airport to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and Detroit. The daily nonstop flights began last week and will operate until the fall.

Spirit, which flies from Philadelphia to seven cities, will add daily nonstop routes from Philadelphia to Detroit and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., starting April 29.

The Miramar, Fla.-based carrier, which offers lower base airfares but charges passengers extra for virtually everything including a carry-on bag, began a nonstop daily flight from Philadelphia to Los Angeles International Airport on April 14.

Spirit also started a new flight last week between Philadelphia and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. The daily flight will be seasonal through Nov. 9.

Spirit now flies from Philadelphia to Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Myrtle Beach, S.C. The carrier has expanded in Philadelphia since 2013.

"We are excited to begin these new routes and deliver on our commitment to bring more ultra-low fares to the places that need them," said Mark Kopczak, Spirit vice president of network planning.
