SEPTA to test emergency response to simulated subway terrorism
Relax, SEPTA subway riders, it will only be a drill.
SEPTA and city first responders and emergency management officials will test their response to a simulated explosion in the SEPTA subway system during a dril Sunday morning.
The 8:30 a.m. exercise "will test plans for a coordinated response to an emergency incident, including a terrorist attack. The drill will also cover practices for investigating unattended or suspicious bags and packages," SEPTA said in a release.
All the fake action will take place at the Fairmount station along the Broad Street line of the city subway system.
And all those victims that will also be involved? No worries, they are volunteers for the drill, SEPTA said.
The drill is expected to take an hour.
