MIX PICKS

Chris Hadfield. The astronaut who floated around the international space station singing David Bowie's "Space Oddity" - and will release a full album recorded entirely in space this fall - has fallen to Earth and gone on a book tour for An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth: What Going to Space Taught Me About Ingenuity, Determination and Being Prepared for Anything. 4 p.m. Sunday at the Free Library.

Wolf Hall. The BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel's Mann Booker Prize-winning historical fictions about the rise of 16th-century statesman Thomas Cromwell (played by Mark Rylance) is slow-moving, but it's satisfyingly Machiavellian without stooping to House of Cards melodrama. Plus, that's Brody from Homeland (Damian Lewis) wearing a feather in his hat as King Henry VIII. Sundays at 10 on PBS.

James McMurtry. Nobody brings closely observed, embittered-yet-

empathetic real life narrative songwriting to the roots-rock Americana realm like James McMurtry. His new album, Complicated Game, is further testament to that. Tuesday at World Cafe Live.

Re-Set featuring Res, Kate Faust, Donn T. A three- woman triple bill of Philadelphia artists featuring Res - whose 2001 Santigold-penned album How I Do is an under-heard gem - plus Questlove's sister Donn T (celebrating her The Flight of the Donn T) and electro-pop singer Kate Faust. Tuesday at Johnny Brenda's.
