HARRISBURG - A judge is allowing former Pennsylvania State University president Graham B. Spanier to travel outside state lines, but he will not permit any foreign trips.
Ed Spreha, a lawyer for Spanier, said he was notified of the order Monday. It requires Spanier to provide five days' notice of any travel outside Pennsylvania. Spanier faces charges that include obstruction and perjury in connection with an alleged cover-up in the Jerry Sandusky child-molestation scandal.
Spanier was also ordered not to have any contact with current or past members of Penn State's board of trustees, or with any witnesses in the case against him. Spanier wanted permission to travel to Europe for work and family matters.
Spreha declined to comment on the order. A message left for the Attorney General's Office late Monday was not immediately returned. - AP
