Cruz youth hurt in Boston crash transferred to Phila. hospital

Matt Cruz, the Neshaminy High School sophomore injured in a bus crash in Boston on Feb. 2, was transferred Wednesday night to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital after spending nearly a month at Boston Medical Center in critical condition.

Matt Cruz, the Neshaminy High School sophomore injured in a bus crash in Boston on Feb. 2, was transferred Wednesday night to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital after spending nearly a month at Boston Medical Center in critical condition.

According to the family's attorney, James Ronca, Cruz and his mother, Megan, flew to Philadelphia, where Cruz will continue treatment for head and spine injuries. The hospital said Cruz was in fair condition.

According to a statement from Megan Cruz, a fund has been set up to "help defray the costs for Matt's transportation to the hospital and his continued medical expenses."

In the statement, Megan Cruz expressed gratitude for the support she has received: "I don't know how I would have made it through these past three weeks without your continued love and support. I am so deeply grateful to all of you back home and here in Boston."
