New DCIU director

MORTON The Delaware County Intermediate Unit has appointed a new director of information technology and systems, the school announced.

David Tirado is to begin his new job Jan. 11. He is currently director of information technology for the Pennridge School District in Bucks County. Before that, Tirado spent 14 years with the Solanco School District in Lancaster County. He has also worked for the Central York and Lancaster School Districts.

Tirado is to "usher in the newer technologies to better help our districts and our students learn," Ray McFall, assistant executive director of the DCIU, said in a statement.

Tirado, a native New Yorker, received his master's degree in school business leadership from Wilkes University. - Mari A. Schaefer
