Seussical the Musical is a mashup of the famous stories by Dr. Seuss that focuses on Horton the Elephant who finds the small world of Who on a dust speck. Unfortunately, no one in the Jungle of Nool believes him and the plot begins to deepen. This fast-paced heart-warming musical hit Broadway in 2000 and lasted for less than a year, closing after only 198 performances, receiving 3 Drama Desk and 1 Tony Nominations.

Delaware County Christian School's production of Seussical the Musical was anchored by the exceptional acting and vocal talents of the leading characters. Each moment spent onstage by these actors was both motivated and intriguing to watch, making the overall show a very enjoyable experience.

Jon Lees held the part of the Cat in the Hat and took control of the show from the moment he leapt onstage. From his charming jokes to the physical portrayal of the Cat, Lees captured the true spirit of this character and allowed for the show to really blossom under his leadership. Christian Jones portrayed the innocent Jojo who felt alone in the universe. Her accurate portrayal of this character was especially impressive because Jojo is a boy, while she is a girl. The vocal talents of Eunice Lee,who portrayed the Sour Kangaroo, really shone through consistently through the show. Her riffs and belts perfectly complimented the sassy and headstrong character of Sour. The acting styles of Alex Payne and Talli Gorbey, Mr. and Mrs. Mayor respectively, provided the show with that extra comic relief that stands out in any production.

In Seussical the stagnant set filled with trap doors and funky windows is the perfect setting. The stage crew's set at Delaware County was clever and effective in portraying an out-of-this-world and fantastical element that this show demands. Combining with the exceptional lighting, the set and lights created another component of a well done show. Now as you can see, Seussical was marvelous at Delaware County! From the leads and the lights to the vocals and sights, anyone can admit that this show was a hit!
