The Green Bracelet, which is made from native African materials and has been worn, the Simmonses say, by Beyonce, Naomi Campbell and Eddie Murphy, costs $125, half of which goes back to the nonprofit.
The rest of the line has all sorts of stuff ranging from $250 to $80,000, a quarter of which goes back to Africa.
Rosie, the big bad bully!
Does
Elisabeth Hasselbeck
spend all her waking hours shedding tears and pulling out her hair because of how her
View
cohost
Rosie O'Donnell
treats her on air?
That Rosie, what a gosh-doll bully!
It got real bad last week when the two went at it over the Patriot Act on air. The conservative Hass said she supported monitoring domestic phone calls. Rosie's like, "You are very young, and you are very wrong." The N.Y. Post says this so shook Hass to the core of her being, she "broke down later off-camera." (Did ABC hire her out of an Emily Bronte novel?) It's so bad, the Post says, Hass is looking for new work.
But the two were soon riding the PR fix-it machine. Rosie's rep: "They get along great." While Hass told L.A. radio station Star 98.7: "Rosie and I are friends."
The Rocks on the rocks?
So just how bad are things between
Chris Rock
and wife
Malaak
?
Various rumor mills and tabloids, including the New York Daily News, have reported the couple, wed in '96, was imploding. TMZ.com reported in November that he was about to file for divorce.
Months later, and not much has changed. Proof, the Rocks say, nothing is wrong. They say the unwanted attention the media have lavished on them has taken its toll.
"Though we have tried in the past to take the high road . . . we find it necessary to express on record how unfortunate it is that" the tabs "have chosen to print untrue rumors and lies about our family and marriage," Rock, 42, and Malaak, 37, say in a statement sent to People mag.
"We remain, as always, very happy and committed to our marriage and [our] beautiful family," say the Rocks, who have two girls, Lola Simone, 4, and Zahra Savannah, 2.
Twirl on, Cliff!
In another inspired bit of casting by the inspired creative team behind the inspirational reality-show-with-a-
message Dancing With the Stars, Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger), the easy-mannered, almost-alcoholic mailman who's constantly on the edge of (almost) going postal (he lives with his ma), has been tapped to fill in for Vincent Pastore, who has fled the dancing contest.
Pastore, 60, who played Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero on The Sopranos, couldn't meet the show's physical demands and continue to keep his spiritual chi as toned and buff as he wanted.
Cliffy's competition on the show, which premieres March 19, includes Heather Mills (a little flirting?), Apolo Anton Ohno and Billy Ray Cyrus.
Jersey girl is a survivor!
Oh, heck, let's sing it: "This girl she's a real survivor / She don't believe in the midnight driver / So she's starting a brand new day."
Doesn't that awesome 10cc song remind you of Antonella Barba? (Dare you, Barba, to sing it on the show.)
Point Pleasant, N.J.'s grooviest reality-show babe - and subject of an Internet porn photo public-relations brouhaha - is still alive on American Idol, having survived last week's voting, which resulted in the dumpage of four more girls.
It's not as if the plucky 20-year-old, whose pukey so-called friends posted compromising pics of her online, didn't try hard to get thrown out:
"I thought you were worse than last week," Good Humor Boy Simon Cowell said Wednesday when Barba struggled through Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me." Keep on keeping on, Point Pleasant.
