Prince Charles'
wife announced yesterday that she would not attend
Princess Diana's
memorial service this week after criticism that her presence would be inappropriate.
Camilla, duchess of Cornwall, said she accepted an invitation from Charles and his sons, Princes William and Harry, to accompany them to the service Friday at the Guards' Chapel in London's Wellington Barracks. But since Camilla had an affair with Charles while he was married to Diana, some criticized her appearance.
Diana married Charles in 1981, but they divorced in 1996 after admissions of adultery on both sides. Known for her charity work, Diana died in a Paris car crash on Aug. 31, 1997.

John Carter Cash

Johnny Cash

June Carter Cash
, visited his father's boyhood town of Dyess, Ark., to learn about his roots.
Cash, 37, said he thought the trip would give him a better understanding of his father. "My father talked about the cotton farm, and the flood, many times," Cash said. "He not only talked about it, it inspired him to write about it as well."
Johnny Cash, born in Kingsland in 1932, moved to Dyess as a child. The five-room house his family lived in is still standing, and the owner gave his son a tour. The younger Cash also used a long picksack to try picking cotton on a farm near Joiner. He said he was pretty slow at picking cotton and it "sure got hot fast."
Drugs found at DMX's home in Arizona
Five years after rapper
DMX
pleaded guilty to animal cruelty involving pit bulls, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia in New Jersey, sheriff's deputies have raided his Phoenix home seeking similar evidence.
The Maricopa County sheriff said Saturday that, during an investigation into claims of animal cruelty, they found about a half-pound of suspected illegal narcotics. Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the suspected drugs were being tested.
The search came after reports that pit bulls at the home were not being given enough food or water. A dozen pit bulls were seized, the bodies of three dogs were dug up in the yard, and a variety of assault-style weapons were taken from the home, Arpaio said.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was not at home, and his lawyer said he hasn't been there for two months. The attorney said "all sorts of people" had been staying at the house and a caretaker had been responsible for the dogs.
