USA Network is renewing its vows to "The Starter Wife."

The cable channel has given a series order to "Starter" following a successful run during the summer as a six-hour miniseries. Debra Messing is set to return in the title role of the show, which is based on the novel by Gigi Levangie Grazer.

The writing team of Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott also are set to return as executive producers, along with Grazer.

" 'The Starter Wife' was a major cultural event and an out-of-the-park home run for us," said Jeff Wachtel, executive vice president original programming at USA. "We're thrilled to reunite Debra, Josie, Sara and Gigi - the world-class team of star and writers who were responsible for its success."

Messing earned an Emmy nomination this year for her role as Molly Kagan, a woman who is redefining herself after getting divorced from a Hollywood studio head.

The series will focus on Molly's post-divorce adventures as she begins a new chapter in her life.

USA has ordered 10 episodes, with the premiere date yet to be determined.

"Starter" debuted May 31 on USA to big numbers, averaging 5.4 million viewers in its premiere. It was nominated for 10 Emmys this year, including a nom for best mini and writing noms for Parriott and McGibbon, plus a supporting actress win for Judy Davis. *
