(8-10:30 p.m., TNT) - Mel Gibson's offscreen antics notwithstanding, there's no denying he makes one heck of a movie war hero. Here, the setting is Vietnam, and Gibson plays Lt. Col. Harold Moore, a real soldier who cowrote a book about his experiences. He and his men are surrounded in what would be remembered as the first big battle to test our troops' mettle. (9-10 p.m., Fox29) - Would you tell an embarrassing truth on national television if there were big bucks involved? Don't answer until you watch this new TV version of Truth or Dare - with very high stakes. Host Mark Walberg presides as ordinary people are asked some of the questions they'd answered earlier while hooked up to a polygraph backstage. To win money, they must tell the truth, no matter how incriminating. True, it can be painful to watch, but we dare you not to.
