is maddeningly full of questions. Which is probably what keeps fans watching. And watching and watching.

Diehards have two hours to sit through tonight (enhanced repeat of last season's finale) and two more tomorrow (recap show at 8, followed by the season premiere).

Was the plane crash really an accident? What were those monsters? How can so many strangers' lives be so interconnected? What did the island's long-gone scientists really do? Why, in last season's cliffhanger, did Jack so desperately want to go back? And when will the stupid writers' strike end?
