Jan. 26 at the Radnor Hotel. The couple had a self-uniting license, but Brian's cousin, Jim Magee, led the ceremony. A reception for 150 followed.

They met

At Harpoon Fest - a Boston beer festival - in June 2004. Stephanie, who grew up in Paoli, was approached by a woman who suggested: "You should meet my friends" - two men, one of whom was Brian. The festival has a "meat market" reputation, Stephanie said. "I thought, 'This is going to be painful.' " Conversation was slow until the Stanley Cup finals came up. Brian and Stephanie hit it off over hockey, and he joined her and a friend at a sports bar, then gave Stephanie his business card. "I e-mailed him that Monday," Stephanie said. They've been together since.

He asked

On an unseasonably beautiful day in March 2007. It was a Saturday, and Stephanie had to work. Brian, who grew up in Manchester, Conn., called to suggest that afterward they go to Crane's Beach in Ipswich, Mass. - one of Stephanie's favorite places. They were walking on the beach when Brian dropped to one knee, bearing a princess-cut diamond ring. "I did not see it coming," Stephanie said.

9 to 5

Stephanie, 30, is a real estate attorney at Lehman Brothers Bank in Boston. Brian, 32, is director of operations for Boston Beer Co., which makes Sam Adams.

Making a home

The couple recently bought a house in Watertown, Mass.

First steps

To a slow version of Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road."

Doing it their way

Stephanie practically grew up at the Radnor Hotel - her father, Louis Prevost, is vice president and general manager. She worked there during middle and high school. "I used to put together wedding packets for brides - and then I got one!" she said. The room where the reception was held is where the Prevost family always went for Mother's Day and Sunday brunches.

Being the general manager's daughter didn't get Stephanie any special perks. All the typical wedding months book up a year in advance, so when Stephanie asked about dates, her father said, "How does January sound?" Optimistic New England sports fans that they are, Stephanie and Brian picked the weekend between the playoffs and the Super Bowl, so neither they nor their guests would be distracted by football.

Stephanie likes winter colors, anyway - and went with dark red and green for the flowers and centerpieces. She wore an ivory strapless Vera Wang dress with a simple A-line skirt - "not too puffy." Her attendants chose their own black dresses. In homage to Brian's employer, Sam Adams was served. But he agreed that Stephanie could have her favorite Miller Light, too.

Not a dry eye

Stephanie and Brian wrote their own vows, and both couple and guests were teary during the exchange.

Bloopers

It rained a lot on the honeymoon, but that was just a handy excuse to relax.

Stephanie says

"Enjoy!"

The honeymoon

Four days in Maui, five on Kauai, and two in Vegas.
