Tattle: CBS' arranged reality

THERE'LL BE something cooking, all right, as the producers of "Top Chef" plate their latest concoction, a reality series about arranged marriages for CBS.

THERE'LL BE something cooking, all right, as the producers of "Top Chef" plate their latest concoction, a reality series about arranged marriages for CBS.

Four alleged grown-ups between the ages of 25 and 45, apparently desperate beyond reason to wed, will be hitched to a spouse chosen by their friends and family, according to the Hollywood Reporter. As if that weren't pressure enough, these fragile marriages will be tracked on TV. Sounds more like hell's kitchen, if you ask us.

Christian goes Bale-istic

Inside this actor's studio is a very, very bad place.

Christian Bale went off on a photo director who accidently walked into a scene as "Terminator Salvation" was filming several months ago. A recording of the actor's F-bomb-laced reaction made the Internet via TMZ.com yesterday.

It's a fascinating eavesdrop, as Bale's anger engorges with each contrite mumble from the director. "I've never had a DP behave like this," Bale sputters. Could the film crew say the same about the actor?

Hudson's back

Fresh off her luminous performance at Sunday's Super Bowl XLIII - her first public appearance since her mother, brother and nephew's murder last fall - Jennifer Hudson will sing at the NAACP Image Awards Feb. 12. She's up for multiple awards for her debut album as well as her performance in the film "The Secret Life of Bees."

Seal also will perform at the show, airing live at 8 p.m. on Fox. Appearing will be Sean "Diddy" Combs, Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, Regina Taylor and Kerry Washington. Halle Berry and Tyler Perry will host.

Stars of screen, onstage

Katie Holmes and Jeremy Piven may have departed the Great White Way, but Hollywood's love affair with the Broadway stage continues Monday as Jane Fonda stars in Moises Kaufman's "33 Variations" at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.

Wednesday, the Frank Loesser-Abe Burrows-Jo Swerling musical phoenix, "Guys and Dolls," arises after a 14-year absence at the Nederlander. Oliver Platt, Craig Bierko and "Gilmore Girl" Lauren Graham star. Opening night's March 1. *
