Scrabble games will lead up to citywide tournament

Players of all ages can play at 17 library branches in all parts of the city, to hone their Scrabble skills in advance of an unrated tournament on Nov. 14 at the Community College of Philadelphia. Philly Plays Scrabble month is sponsored by After School Activities Partnerships (ASAP), and a list of participating library branches is available on its Web site at http://www.phillyasap. org/Scrabble.aspx. Since 2006, ASAP has organized youth Scrabble clubs that now reach about 700 students in more than 60 clubs at schools, rec centers, libraries, churches and even homeless shelters.
