Macy's Center City will come alive today with the sound of seasonal music and with "Sound of Music" star Julie Andrews, as she unveils the store's holiday window display.

Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, also will sign copies of their latest children's book, "Julie Andrews' Collection of Poems, Song, and Lullabies." Andrews has starred in such films as "Mary Poppins" and "The Princess Diaries."

The actress, her daughter and 6-year-old granddaughter will arrive by carriage to Macy's Market Street side at 2 p.m. Santa Claus will be there, too. After the window unveiling, Andrews will sign books for the first 200 buyers from 3-4 p.m.

There will be a preview of the holiday light show, featuring an organ concert by Grand Court organist Peter Conte. Andrews narrates the "Christmas Light Show," which opens Nov. 27 and runs hourly through Dec. 31, starting at 10 a.m. during store hours.

Also back for the holidays is "Dickens' Village," the 6,000-square-foot walk-through display evoking 1840s London and Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." The display debuted in 1985 and was revamped four years ago. It will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Nov. 27-Dec. 24. For more on Macy's holiday events, call 215-241-9000.
