London's Daily Mail says authorities have hospitalized Adam Ant (Stuart Goddard), 55, under Britain's Mental Health Act following a series of "troubled public appearances," including a gig last week where the New Waver unleashed an obscenity-laced tirade against Christians.

Ant was similarly "sectioned" in '03 when he threatened to assault a neighbor - and was later found naked in the neighbor's basement.
Last month, Ant said he has "had [a] lifelong battle against manic depression."
In a post on www.themusicfix.co.uk, he tells his fans, "I am having a well-earned rest at Her Majesty's Pleasure."
