"Say Say Say" earns the top spot as Jackson's best-performing Hot 100 chart single. His duet with Paul McCartney led the list for six weeks beginning in December 1983. The pair also ranks at No. 10 with "The Girl Is Mine," the first single from Jackson's "Thriller," the best-selling studio album of all time (29 million), according to the Recording Industry Association of America. The cut peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for three weeks in January 1983.
"Billie Jean" places as Jackson's second-biggest single. The title totaled more weeks than "Say" in the top 10 (13/11), top 20 (16/12) and top 40 (18/17).
