WYCLEF JEAN SHOT

Former Fugee Wyclef Jean was recovering yesterday in Haiti after being shot in the hand while campaigning for a fellow performer who is running for president.

The shooting happened in the Delmas section of Port-au-Prince on Saturday night, said Joe Mignon, senior program director for Wyclef's Yele Foundation.

Wyclef was treated at a hospital and later released, Mignon said.

A Haitian native, Wyclef was home to support fellow musician and friend Michel "Sweet Micky" Martelly, one of two presidential candidates in a runoff vote yesterday.
