Art takes root along banks of the Schuylkill

Many art galleries in and around Philadelphia stay open later on the first Friday of the month. The visual arts move outdoors from Thursday through June 12 with "Art in the Open Philadelphia." Forty artists will make art along the banks of the Schuylkill from the Fairmount Water Works alongside the Philadelphia Art Museum to Bartram's Garden three miles down river.

Many art galleries in and around Philadelphia stay open later on the first Friday of the month.

The visual arts move outdoors from Thursday through June 12 with "Art in the Open Philadelphia." Forty artists will make art along the banks of the Schuylkill from the Fairmount Water Works alongside the Philadelphia Art Museum to Bartram's Garden three miles down river.

June 11 will feature family day activities, and an exhibition of work created during AIO will be held June 18-July 5 at the Painted Bride (230 Vine St., 215-925-9914).
