CONGRATULATIONS to Jefferson Hospital physician Howard Krein, who is engaged to Ashley Biden, daughter of Vice President Joe Biden.
Krein is an otolaryngologist - ear, nose and throat doctor - who studied medicine at Jefferson and has practiced there for four years. The surgeon and medical professor did not return our request for comment yesterday about his happy news.
The couple got engaged in September, after dating for about a year, the Associated Press reports. Vice President Biden, whose mouth has gotten him in trouble before, reportedly referred to his "future son-in-law" at an event in Wilmington Friday.
Ashley Biden, 30, works as a social worker. A spokeswoman for Jill Biden, Ashley's mother, confirmed the engagement yesterday and said the family is "thrilled."
This isn't the first time the Bidens and Jefferson have been linked in the news. Ashley's brother Beau Biden, Delaware attorney general, was treated at Jefferson in 2010 after a stroke.
Bonaduce westward ho
Danny Bonaduce is off to Seattle to host mornings on Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK starting Nov. 14, the station has announced.
The Broomall-born "Partridge Family" actor hosted mornings on 94 WYSP for a few years but was displaced in September when the longtime rock station turned into the FM home of sports radio 610 WIP.
Bonaduce and his wife, Amy, put their Old City condo on the market for $450,000.
"Seattle is the most beautiful city I have ever seen," Bonaduce said in a CBS Radio statement.
Bonaduce's new show can be streamed online at kzok.com.
OUT AND ABOUT
Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and many more Dallas Cowboys dined Saturday at Ruth's Chris (260 S. Broad). The guys went for steaks and appetizers, and posed for a few pictures and signed autographs on their way out. The team stayed at the DoubleTree just across Broad Street.* All that sucking sure worked up an appetite for the Cowboys. The team ordered 50 cheesesteaks and 40 chicken cheesesteaks from Talk of the Town (3020 S. Broad) after Sunday's devastating loss to the Eagles.
* Oh! Shea's (19th & Sansom) owner Helen Shea hosted a 93.3 WMMR reunion Saturday night. Pierre Robert, Cyndy Drue, and Micheal Tearson were among those braving the elements to have a good time.
* Fashion photographer Reuben "Big Rube" Harley, whose Street Gazing feature runs in the Daily News on Fridays, today becomes the latest person to have his face added to the wall of caricatures at The Palm (200 S. Broad).
Two stars are born
State Sen. Michael J. Stack and Your Humble Narrator shot a scene for "Relasume: The Relationship Resume," at the Prime Rib (17th & Locust) Sunday.
Our scene also featured Philly rapper Dice Raw, a longtime collaborator of The Roots, who stars in and is scoring the indie romantic comedy, and co-star Anthony Horton. It's written and directed by David L. Powell III, and is produced by actress Jennifer Layne Park and co-stars Tiphani Abney, of VH1's "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch," and Jackie Doll from VH1's "Real Chance at Love 2."
Han walks for mom
6 ABC reporter/anchor Nydia Han will walk in Sunday's Free to Breathe 5K Run/Walk, a benefit for the Pennsylvania Lung Cancer Partnership, at Memorial Hall, in Fairmount Park. Han's mother, Hwang Joung Kim Hanm, died of lung cancer in October 2009. In her report on Sunday's "Action News," Han, who noted that her mother never smoked, discussed the stigma associated with lung cancer. Her report and others from 6 ABC's Ali Gorman, a registered nurse, will air all week on "Action News." For more on the charity, visit freetobreathe.org.
