Sideshow: Chelsea is now a reporter

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, who throughout her young life has assiduously ducked reporters and cameras, has signed on as a special correspondent with NBC. Clinton, 31, is expected to contribute to NBC Nightly News and to Rock Center With Brian

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, who throughout her young life has assiduously ducked reporters and cameras, has signed on as a special correspondent with NBC. Clinton, 31, is expected to contribute to NBC Nightly News and to Rock Center With Brian Williams, focusing primarily on how volunteers make an impact in this country and others. "I have long been impressed that Brian and his team at NBC place consistent importance on sharing stories of empowerment that in turn, help empower other people and families," said Clinton. "I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this tradition."

NBC's attempts to bring in second-generation notables have thus far not met with notable success, as demonstrated by the marginal contributions of Luke Russert and Jenna Bush Hager.

At Linc: Chesney, McGraw

Cowboy-hatted homeboys Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw will headline at Lincoln Financial Field on June 16, 2012, filling up the house that Jeffrey Lurie built. (That's a Saturday.) Chesney brings his massively popular, Jimmy Buffett-ized country-pop to football stadiums every summer. Since the Linc opened in 2003, he's the non-athlete who has played it the most.

Usually, Chesney (who didn't sound half-bad strumming an acoustic guitar and singing "You and Tequila" with Grace Potter on the CMA Awards last week) tops a multi-act bill, with Nashville stars on the rise such as Miranda Lambert or Sugarland or the Zac Brown Band on the undercard. This time, however, he'll bring a superstar of similar stature to share headliner status in McGraw, the son of Tug and wife of Faith Hill. Tim McGraw's name also is the title of a Taylor Swift song, and his "Something Like That" was played on the radio more than any other song in any genre during the '00s. Tickets ($25-$33) go on sale Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. at www.philadelphiaeagles.com or via Ticketmaster.

Kat scratched

Tattoo artist Kat Von D says she was wrong about Jesse James not having a cheatin' heart. "Today I encountered the 19th girl to add to the list of people Jesse cheated on me with during this last year," the Kat in the Tats confided on her Facebook page on Sunday.

Von D, 29, former star of the reality show L.A. Ink, says she thought she could prove the world wrong about Jess, but the world was right: "I know I deserve a big fat 'I told you so' from everyone and wish I didn't have to say, 'You all were more right than you'll ever know,' but you were."

She adds that she isn't venting, but just "making peace with myself and forgiving myself for making some bad mistakes."

James, 42, has 'fessed to People mag that he did exhibit "poor judgment" in responding to allegations of infidelity when he was married to Sandra Bullock. He has not commented on Kat's posting, but the ubiquitous Anon Source, this time claiming a close relationship with the former West Coast Choppers owner, labels it "ridiculous."

James and Von D had been planning to get married, but split in September, with Kat telling People, "I wish Jesse nothing but the best in life and in love."

Frisked in Fargo

Far from the bars and beaches of her native habitat, Jersey Shore reality star Jenni Farley, better known as JWoww, says she suffered humiliation at the hands of the Transportation Security Administration in Fargo, N.D., the Associated Press reports.

In a series of tweets on her Twitter account, JWoww says TSA officers singled her out for a pat down at Hector International Airport and "treated [her] like a criminal." It all appeared "odd and deliberate," she said, adding that a TSA officer had been pointing at her while she drank a cup of coffee.

A TSA spokeswoman did not immediately answer an A.P. request for comment. Ditto on a request for comment from JWoww's rep.

Pitt to quit?

Brad Pitt may be thinking about retiring from the screen in three years, People magazine reports.

Pitt, 47, said in an interview with an Australian TV news program that he's having a good time producing films and "getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise." Speaking of getting to the plate, Pitt has been touring the Western Pacific to promote his new film, Moneyball.

Could be that Pitt was just having some fun with the Aussies, People speculates. For sure, he's more selective about where he displays his talents these days, especially now that he and Angelina Jolie are parents to a fair-sized brood of offspring. He wants the kids to be proud of the old man. "If I'm choosing a film now, I want it to be maybe less immature than things I have done in the past," he said. "I'm very conscious, when they're adults I want it to mean something to them. I want them to think, 'Dad's all right.' "
