Individuals and organizations are planning area projects across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, said Todd Bernstein, founder of the Greater Philadelphia King Day of Service and MLK365. Volunteers should call 215-665-2475 or register online at

At your feet

"Below and Beyond" is a new collaborative performance about extraction, urban camouflage, immortal jellyfish, and the Mill Creek, its producers say. The experiment is by Beth Nixon (of Ramshackle Enterprises) and Sarah Lowry (of the Missoula Oblongata), with Matthew Schreiber on accordion and other instruments. The performance is inspired by the submerged Mill Creek of West Philadelphia, as well as the current debate about fracking in Pennsylvania. The show will go on at 7:30 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Monday, at The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St. Tickets are $5 to $10, but no one will be turned away. Tickets are available online at
