Local foods are the focus of Sunday's Philly Farm and Food Fest, which will gather more than 100 local food vendors, artisanal producers, and farmers at the Convention Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family-friendly event (kids under age 12 are free) is a collaboration between Fair Food and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture. Exhibitors will sample and sell locally made products such as honey, cheeses, cured meats, jams, small-batch ice creams, organic flour, and baked goods. Pink power against breast cancer

Brides Against Breast Cancer is offering its nationwide Tour of Gowns Charity Wedding Gown Sale on Friday. Designer wedding gowns and bridal accessories are being sold for up to 85 percent off to benefit the charity. Brunch is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Pink Power Hour, $20, scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, allowing access one hour before the show opens to general admission. Breast-cancer survivors and medical partners will be available to discuss local initiatives to support people impacted by breast cancer. Most gowns are $99 to $799, with values up to $8,000. Free-admission hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ramada Philadelphia Airport, 76 Industrial Highway, Essington. Happy birthday, Norristown!

A yearlong commemoration celebrating 200 years of community, culture, and heritage in Norristown will begin this weekend. The Montgomery County seat will celebrate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Elmwood Park. Music, historical reenactments, community art, local foods, and more will highlight the bicentennial kickoff. The Montgomery County Historical Society will provide guided tours of Norristown with stops at Selma Mansion and St. John's Church, also celebrating its bicentennial. Racing night for charity

Narberth's annual Night at the Races, a Bala Cynwyd-Narberth Lions Club fund-raiser, will bring the fun and excitement of horse racing to Borough Hall on Saturday for a night of food, fun, and prizes. Events are at 7 p.m. at Narberth Borough Hall, 100 Conway Ave, Narberth. Place $2 bets on your favorite horse and cheer him to victory on a big screen. Shaping the states

Mark Stein will be speaking at the 120th anniversary of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania on "How the States Got Their Shapes Too." His speech, at 2 p.m. at the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, 219 S. Sixth St., is the sequel to Smithsonian Books' popular title How the States Got Their Shapes, the basis for the History Channel TV show.
