James Bond bested Santa Claus over the weekend by a sleigh length, according to studio estimates.

Skyfall, the latest Bond frolic, took in $11 million for Sony. The animated adventure Rise of the Guardians, with a buffed-up Santa and other mythical figures as superheroes, put $10.5 million in Paramount's bank account. That was enough to send The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 back to the crypt in third place, with a gate of $9.2 million for Summit Entertainment. Disney's Lincoln was close behind with $9.1 mil. Life of Pi closed out the top five for the slow weekend with $8.3 million for 20th Century Fox.
