YOU CAN SEE the 2013 Oscar-nominated live-action and animated short films at the Ritz at the Bourse starting Friday.
The program for the animated films runs 88 minutes and features "Maggie Simpson in 'The Longest Daycare,' " in which the Simpson toddler longs to join the elite children at the Ayn Rand Daycare Center. Other titles include "Paperman" (USA) "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" (U.K.), "Fresh Guacamole," and "Adam the Dog," both from the U.S.
A separate program for nominated live-action short films runs 113 minutes and features "Asad," a coming-of-age fable about a Somali boy, "Buzkashi Boys," set in Afghanistan and directed by Philadelphia-area native Sam French, "Curfew," from the U.S., "Henry," from Canada, and from Belgium/France, "Death of a Shadow."
Neither program carries an MPAA rating.
