West Philadelphia playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes is not only a Pulitzer Prize-winner; her 2008 musical In the Heights, written with Lin-Manuel Miranda, won a Tony Award. The show, about life in the Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights, goes on at 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Walnut Street Theatre, 825 Walnut St., and continues on a Tuesday- through-Sunday schedule to Oct. 20. Sea stories
The greatest American playwright, Eugene O'Neill, got his start with productions staged on a Cape Cod wharf. The Philadelphia Artists' Collective returns to those roots, presenting two of the Nobel laureate's earliest plays, Bound East for Cardiff and In the Zone, about sailors on a tramp steamer, at 8 p.m. on the tall ship Gazela, Columbus Boulevard and Market Street. Woodrow's time
The nation's 28th president is about to become very hip: It seems that Leonardo DiCaprio has signed to produce and star in a movie based on A. Scott Berg's new biography Wilson. Based on newly discovered papers, Berg's book follows Woodrow Wilson from his academic career at Princeton University to the governorship of New Jersey to the White House, where he led the nation through World War I and tried (and failed) to create a worldwide peace treaty.
