After Sunday, you won't have to be from the Big Easy to know what it means to miss New Orleans. David Simon's languid ballad to the city, set in post-Katrina times, wraps ups its final, too-short season with a bittersweet 75-minute episode that rewards the faithful few who've watched all along. Come for the music and the food, stay for the people who deliver it.

* KENNEDY CENTER HONORS. 9 p.m. Sunday, CBS3.

Shirley MacLaine, Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana, Martina Arroyo and Billy Joel were this year's honorees. The gala, recorded earlier this month in Washington, D.C., is being broadcast on CBS for the 36th consecutive year.

* CALL THE MIDWIFE HOLIDAY SPECIAL 2013. 7:30 p.m. Sunday, WHYY12.

An unexploded bomb from World War II disrupts things for the nurses and nuns of the popular series. The special airs on PBS just four days after its premiere in Britain on Christmas Day. So no downloading!
