Check out a dance theater duet as the worlds of hip-hop and butoh meet Friday and Saturday during

Flash

at Painted Bride Art Center.

The performance features dancers Rennie Harris and Michael Sakamoto. In the interdisciplinary show the artists communicate through dance and find commonalities and shared cultural experiences between African American and Japanese cultures. The multimedia show takes the audience on a journey with doses of humor; it also has remakes of pop, funk and hip-hop songs from "back in the day."

Smith's Winter Wonderland

The annual Winter Wonderland presented by Peco returns Saturday at Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse.

There will be musical performances by artists from the Junior Music Executive program in Philadelphia, crafts for kids to make (greeting cards and decorating gingerbread houses), a petting zoo, and more - also a hot cocoa bar. The event is designed for children 10 and younger and their caregivers.

Seaport Parade of Lights

Independence Seaport Museum's annual Seaport Parade of Lights is an all-day celebration Saturday with an evening lighted boat parade on the Delaware River.

Festivities will take place 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the museum. Visitors can see a hand-carved ice sculpture of the warship Olympia and decorated ship displays. West Deptford High School Madrigal Choir will perform, and Santa will be on deck and ready for selfies. Guests can also pose and snap pics with Scroogelike pirate Calico Jack. Meet Quiky in Nesquik's Bunnyland, where there will be games. The boat parade starts at 5, and visitors can enjoy the view from the second-floor balcony.
