2015 Mummers Parade indoor viewing options

HERE ARE some ways to enjoy Mummers fun no matter what the weather brings.

* At Washington Avenue, the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts will be the place to warm up. When Mummers aren't performing at the intersection, other entertainment will be provided.

* The Kimmel Center, at Spruce Street, is going all out with a full day (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) of free events, including live music on the Plaza Stage, a DJ dance party and face painting and other kids' stuff. Food (and adult beverages) will be sold, including a VIP Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Chef Jose Garces. Details: kimmelcenter. org/events.

* Another indoor attraction is tonight's sneak peek at the Fancy Brigades, from 6 to 9 p.m., as they go through final preparations at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Details at fancybrigade.com.

* Finally, through Thursday, there's Mummers Fest, a kid-oriented event featuring games, face-painting and other activities, at the Convention Center. Times are 4:30 to 9 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Thursday. Admission is $4. Details at fancybrigade.com.
