New Orleans jazz band to entertain children

Kids can party Mardi Gras-style Saturday with Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards. Enjoy sounds from the Crescent City with this New Orleans jazz band. The musicians' high-energy show, blending different sounds, ranging from zydeco to bebop to swing will keep youngsters and their caretakers dancing. Jazzy Ash infuses some of her Trinidadian background in her grooves, so get ready to boogie.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater

Start the weekend with laughter Friday night at the world-famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater at West Chester University's Asplundh Concert Hall, where juggler and comedian Gregory Popovich will show off his skills and talents alongside his performing pets.

The show features 15 cats and 10 dogs rescued from animal shelters that combine forces with human performers to demonstrate their entertainment chops. Balancing acts and clowns will also amuse.

Play-a-Palooza at Smith Playground

Celebrate the seasonal grand opening of Smith Memorial Playground from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday with the Play-a-Palooza party.
