The Cooper Foundation held its fifth annual Cooper Red Hot Gala on March 27 at Philadelphia hot spot Vie. More than 800 attended the gala, which raised a record $1.5 million to support the Cooper Level I Trauma Center. One of only three of its kind in New Jersey, it serves more than 2,700 gravely injured children and adults every year. Gala attendees enjoyed food, drink, entertainment, and an auction with items galore. The evening also honored Dr. Steven E. Ross, director of the Center for Trauma Services and the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit and vice chairman of the Department of Surgery. Proceeds will help equip the Cooper Trauma Center with the latest lifesaving technology and staff the facility 24 hours a day. Cooper also offers injury-prevention programs for school districts and community groups.
