The Mustang Scholars Foundation presented its man of the year award to retired Adm. Thomas Lynch at a March 28 gala at Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne. Lynch, an Operation Desert Shield veteran and former superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, also was past president of the Union League. Chosen by the foundation because he has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make a positive impact in both business and community, Lynch was honored in front of more than 150 family members, associates, and friends from the Union League. Guests enjoyed catering by Stephen Starr, a silent auction, and entertainment by the Philly Pops. The Mustang Scholars Foundation offers financial and personal support to economically disadvantaged students.
