Walk in honor and admiration of your favorite girls and women Saturday at the third annual Sojourner Truth Walk at Clark Park in University City.

Walk in honor and admiration of your favorite girls and women Saturday at the third annual Sojourner Truth Walk at Clark Park in University City.
All are welcome to support this 5k walk through West Philadelphia. Bring a photo of your favorite female to hold up during the walk, whether it's your daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, an esteemed leader, or other. You can walk as an individual or as a team.
The route circles Clark Park to Kingsessing Park, then Malcolm X Park, and ends at the Calvary Center for Community and Culture on 48th Street and Baltimore Avenue.
Proceeds benefit the Camp Sojourner Girls' Leadership Camp and help fund scholarships for summer camp and year-round leadership activities.
Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival
Take the family for a Sunday stroll at Chestnut Hill's annual Home and Garden Festival.
Enjoy live music, yoga, craft activities, amusement rides, and face painting. For the adults, there will be vendors with furniture, jewelry, garden supplies, and seeds.
Splash of Red
Celebrate the life and work of West Chester-born, self-taught painter Horace Pippin, who was known for his gorgeous portrayals of the black experience, biblical stories, and historical imagery.
Author Jen Bryant, who wrote Splash of Red: The Life and Art of Horace Pippin, will read from and sign copies Sunday at the Brandywine River Museum. The works of Pippin are also on display in the museum's "The Way I See It" exhibit through July 19.
